DMT diamond pastes

Manufacturer's instructions (sharpener instructions to come...) :

1.Dia-Paste produces best results when the tool has been sharpened/ground with a 9-micron diamond stone (extra-fine) note: These instructions apply to manual sharpening. For use with the Magna-Disc system, please refer to the instructions supplied with your Magna-Disc sharpening kit.

2.choose a work surface made from a material such as cast iron, glass, medium-density fiberboard (MDF), fine-grained hardwood, full-grain leather, etc. Split leather is a common choice for sharpening. The split leather commonly offered for coarse or chrome-oxide sharpening is not recommended, as the grain of the leather is too fine.
Leather can absorb excessive amounts of diamond compounds. You should use separate surfaces for each grain size. CAREFULLY release each surface, as all products, whatever their original color, turn black after use.

3 Unscrew the syringe cap before use.

4.apply uniform pressure throughout the grinding process. Polishing may require more pressure than grinding on a DMI stone. A single application of 2-3 drops should be sufficient for sharpening many tools.

5. DO NOT mix grit sizes. Clean tools thoroughly before changing to a different grit size.

6. For best results, use each grit size from 6 microns through 3 microns to 1 micron. It's time to move on to the next grit size when you've achieved uniform surface abrasion.

7 To check the mirror-finish of the surface, place an object, such as a ruler, perpendicular to the tool and see if you can read the reflection in the tool. (Any distortion indicates that the surface is not flat enough).

8. Store your work surface in a clean, dry environment, such as a sealed plastic bag. When properly stored, the surface will be ready for use next time without the need for further application. Take care not to expose the surface to dust, especially sawdust.
