Maple and stainless steel sharpening station
Maple and stainless steel sharpening station
The Aiguisoir sharpening station, manufactured by Production Bec-Scie in Val-David, was designed for efficient, clean sharpening. This is the station used for the Aiguisoir sharpening class, with notable improvements. While the center container collects sharpening debris (sludge from the stone and steel), the side containers are used to soak the stones and supply water for sharpening. In addition, the separation of stones (coarse vs. fine) reduces cross-contamination by coarse particles in the fine stone container. The horizontal board is easily removed to remove and wash the central container. The whole unit rests on non-slip feet. Small anti-slip mats are supplied with the sharpening station. This means it can be used with or without a rubber stone holder, depending on your preference. A damp rod can also be used to stabilize the stone.
